No More Someday: Demand Companies to Stop Stalling on their Cage-Free Promises!

Every year, billions of hens suffer in tiny cages—unable to move, stretch their wings, or live a natural life. Global hotel chains like Radisson Hotel Group and Choice Hotels have promised to go 100% cage-free by 2025. But the truth is, they are falling far short of their commitments, doing the bare minimum, and quietly removing their timelines altogether.

It’s time to demand real change. Radisson Hotel Group and Choice Hotels have both pledged to eliminate caged eggs by 2025 but continue to fall short. Despite operating globally—Radisson in over 115 countries and Choice in more than 40—and generating billions in revenue, millions of hens remain caged due to their slow or nonexistent progress, especially in critical regions like Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

Choice Hotels has disregarded their timeline to be 100% cage-free by 2025 and lacks transparency, failing to publicly report comprehensive progress or plans to address supply gaps. Radisson similarly reports only the number of hotels “using” cage-free eggs rather than total volumes and has also ignored their deadline of 2025. Both companies must reinstate clear timelines, provide detailed and transparent reporting, and release concrete plans to achieve 100% cage-free sourcing worldwide.

Their failure to deliver detailed roadmaps toward 100% cage-free sourcing isn’t just a missed deadline—it’s a deliberate evasion of responsibility, a cynical move that treats the suffering of millions of hens as secondary to protecting their corporate image. These companies seem to hope that vague promises will placate the public, but behind the scenes, the cruelty continues unabated.

Hundreds of companies worldwide are already being transparent and publicly sharing the concrete steps they have taken to achieve 100% cage-free operations globally by 2025. These include Accor Hotels, Meliá and InterContinental Hotels. Meanwhile, Radisson and Choice Hotels continue to lag behind with no transparency or clear plans, showing a complete lack of real commitment to animal welfare. It is unacceptable that, in 2025, these companies are still dragging their feet while their competitors move forward and are held accountable.
