CJ Group: Protect Hens from Cruel Cages across all brands

Whether you’re grabbing a Red Baron or Freschetta pizza from the freezer aisle or enjoying Bibigo dumplings, you might have supported CJ Group without even knowing it. This global giant is behind some of the most recognizable brands in grocery stores today, in both the US and in Korea where it’s headquartered: Schwan’s, CJ Foodville, and CJ CheilJedang. But behind these popular names lies a reality that CJ Group is keeping hidden: the extreme suffering of millions of hens in their supply chain.

Right now, these animals are sentenced to a life of extreme suffering, packed into tiny wire cages in dark, dirty facilities. They will never get to spread their wings, perch, or feel the sun. Instead, they endure a cycle of constant restriction where their bodies are treated like machines until they are completely spent.

A world without these cruel cages is not only possible, it’s already happening. Other global food leaders like Campbell’s and Panera have acknowledged that the bottom line is no longer an excuse for animal abuse. As CJ Group continues to grow internationally, they have a choice: stick to outdated, heartless practices, or listen to the growing number of people demanding more care in our food system.

We are calling on CJ Group to spare millions of hens from the worst forms of abuse by committing to a global cage-free egg policy. It’s time to move toward a future of care and ensure that no animal is forced to spend their life in a cage.

Sign the petition and tell CJ Group: Commit to ending cage confinement today!
